My Story

"I was lucky enough to be exposed to music all around from a young age. I connect with the freedom of expression that comes with playing music. I even say that playing guitar and singing gave me a way to explore the world and my inner-self. I love how lyrics in music always give me a way to learn through story telling and reflection instead of, "the hard way". Music is like my older wiser sibling or grandparent. Playing guitar gives me a way to apply many of my passions with fun goals like: my interest in mathematics, my interest in physics and electronics, my interest in art and communications, my interests in business and community building, my interest in computers and the long held tradition of keeping songs alive, etc.

I enjoy the way music draws me out to find people to play with and for. When you're playing music with others I feel like it's the most fun one could have on a lot of levels. The way it stimulates the mind is quite unique and exquisite. Sure there are ups and downs, there is lots of hard work to be put in, but in the moment usually I couldn't be happier. Even if I am making a silly or confused face. It's very difficult for me to play when I am sad.

With the skill to play music comes a responsibility to share it. It is a power like that of love, able to say things we cannot, strong and healing. It works for my personality. I like to share. I like bringing people together, to provide a safe and comforting ambiance to enjoy. I also feel like learning to play music gave me valuable skills to communicate/ speak to many without needing to isolate ourselves in one on one conversation. " ~ Salvador Sarmiento ~ 10.11.'22
